Boxing: Unbeaten Contender Amir Imam to Fight Adrian Granados on Nov. 28

Amir Imam is regarded as one of the best young contenders in the sport of boxing. He’ll display his fistic skills once again when he takes on Adrian Granados in the featured bout of a Showtime Boxing on Sho Extreme card on Nov. 28 at Centre Videotron in Quebec City, the network announced Wednesday.

Imam (18-0, 15 KOs), the top-rated junior lightweight according to the WBC, has been stellar thus far in his still-blossoming career. The New York-based pugilist has racked up terrific wins over solid opposition such as Walter Castillo, Fernando Angulo and Fidel Maldonado Jr., and many within the sport believe he’ll become a world champion sooner rather than later.

Granados (16-4-2, 11 KOs) is a tough contender from the Chicago area and he has also faced credible opposition. However, aside from a draw with former champ Kermit Cintron, Granados has come up short against the best foes he’s faced. He lost to Brad Solomon, Felix Diaz and Frankie Gomez, but to his credit he has won his last three fights.

Also slated to appear on the Sho Extreme telecast will be a 10-round heavyweight attraction between Oscar Rivas and Curtis Harper. The action will begin live at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT and will directly precede the Showtime Championship Boxing telecast anchored by IBF super middleweight champion James DeGale versus Lucian Bute. That event will air live on Showtime beginning at 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT.
