Bob Arum: Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao PPV Will Likely Cost ‘$89.95,’ Won’t Be Over $100
Now that
Floyd Mayweather Jr. and
Manny Pacquiao is finally
official, it’s time to fill in the details regarding how the
boxing match will
actually take place.
During an interview with 8CountNews.com on Saturday, Top Rank CEO Bob Arum let the world know how much money they would be shelling out if they choose to watch the event from the friendly confines of their living room.
“I think it’ll be like $89.95, that’s what’s being talked about,”
Arum said. “It will not be over $100.”
With how highly anticipated the matchup is, a price point of $90 seems feasible. The card takes place May 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Mayweather’s bout against Marcos Maidana in September cost $64.99 for standard viewing and $74.99 for high definition. HBO pay-per-view charged fans $70 for its most recent Pacquiao fight, when “PacMan” defeated Chris Algieri in Macau.
