Fighting Championships earned an average of 277,000 viewers
with its live Saturday broadcast of
Bellator 47 on MTV2.
MTV officials informed Sherdog.com of the viewership statistics on Tuesday.
The two-hour broadcast peaked with 386,000 viewers, making the event the second-most watched telecast since the promotion began broadcasting on MTV2 in March. The show was only outdrawn by Bellator 44, which raked in 325,000 average viewers for its first-run broadcast in May.
An immediate replay of Bellator 47 earned an additional 261,000 viewers. The event marked the promotion’s inaugural trip to Canada and was held at Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario. The show featured the semifinals of Bellator’s Summer Series featherweight tournament, where Pat Curran and Marlon Sandro advanced to the championships round by outpointing Ronnie Mann and Nazareno Malegarie, respectively.
