Artem Vakhitov to Defend Light Heavyweight Title Against Saulo Cavalari at Glory 38
Glory, the world’s leading kickboxing promotion, revealed this week
that the Windy City will serve as the host locale for Glory 38. The
Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, just outside of Chicago,
will house the event on Feb. 24.
Headlining the card will be the rubber match between light heavyweight champion Artem Vakhitov and Saulo Cavalari. Vakhitov (17-5, 7 KOs) has racked up a 6-1 record in Glory and captured the promotion’s belt by edging Cavalari (60-4, 49 KOs) via decision at Glory 28: Paris in March. The Brazilian had previously beaten Vakhitov by split decision at Glory 20 last April. Vakhitov last fought on Nov. 5, when he knocked out Zack Mwekassa at Glory 35: Nice to retain his title.
Additionally, an intriguing heavyweight battle between “Chopper”
Chi Lewis-Parry (8-, 4 KOs) and Catalin “The Carpathian Death”
Morosanu (42-10, 25 KOs) has been unveiled. The matchup will anchor
the Glory 38 SuperFight Series undercard.
Glory 38: Chicago will be aired live on ESPN3 beginning 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT immediately following the Glory 38 SuperFight Series undercard, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
Additional bouts will be announced in the coming weeks.
