A wise poet warrior once said: “Everyone has a plan till they get
punched in the mouth.” That poet warrior was “Iron” Mike Tyson. OK,
maybe, he has not always been so wise, but he makes a good
point.
Rashad Evans channeled his inner-Mike Tyson during a verbal dust up with Phil Davis on a recent conference call for UFC on Fox 2, which goes down on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT at the United Center in Chicago.
“When you get hit in the mouth, things change,” Evans said. “When you got hit by [Antonio Rogerio Nogueira], you didn’t know what to do. When I hit you in the mouth, you’re going to feel it.”
Evans (16-1-1), a former UFC light-heavyweight champion, believes his experience on the big stage will give him the edge against Davis (9-0), a former NCAA national wrestling champion at Penn State University.
