The ordering process for Ultimate Fighting Championship pay-per-views has changed: UFC 239 is only available on ESPN+ in the U.S.

UFC on ESPN 3 may have hogged the headlines during the weekend of June 28-30, but there was plenty of mixed martial arts action to be found elsewhere. The Legacy Fighting Alliance staged some pivotal clashes at LFA 70 on Friday in Madison, Wisconsin, while Titan Fighting Championship did the same with Titan 55 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

DISQUALIFIED … LFA 70 was headlined by battle between Brett Martin and Renan Ferreira in the semifinals of the promotion’s heavyweight grand prix. In the first round, Martin failed on a trip attempt and found himself on the mat, his towering opponent hammering him with punches. However, some of the blows landed illegally to the back of the American’s head. Referee Rob Hinds stepped in 3:14 into the first round and disqualified Ferreira. Martin advanced to the tournament final and in doing so improved to 3-1. Ferreira slipped to 5-2.

DOUBLE TROUBLEJake Childers clashed with James Krause-Simmons in a featherweight tilt at LFA 70. The fight was in its infancy when Krause-Simmons bent down to attempt a single-leg. He ate a right knee to the chin in the process that appeared to knock him out cold. As he collapsed back to the canvas, Childers latched on to a guillotine choke and kept squeezing until the referee pulled him off. The knee strike was deemed to have been the mode of victory. The official time of the finish was 13 seconds of Round 1. The triumphant Childers moved his unblemished record to 6-0, while Krause-Simmons dipped to 2-2.

GUILLOTINE GLORYMark Lemminger met Isaac Steele at 170 pounds under the LFA 70 banner. The end came when Steele shot for a double-leg takedown. Lemminger responded by grabbing his neck with one arm. Although Steele forced him to the floor, Lemminger immediately gripped his adversary’s neck with his other hand and set up a guillotine choke. After rolling to a mounted position, he continued tightening the hold until Steele was forced to tap 3:14 into Round 2. The unbeaten Lemminger improved to 9-0, while Steele fell to 7-2.

THINNEST OF MARGINS … Titan 55 featured a welterweight showcase between Jeremie Holloway and Marc Stevens in what proved to be a closely contested, back-and-forth affair. Stevens fared well with his striking in the first round and secured a takedown late in the second. However, Holloway finished the final frame with a flourish, as he laid into his rival with a flurry of blows. At the conclusion of the 15-minute battle, the judges sided with Holloway by split decision, the narrow victory moving him to 9-3. Stevens dropped to 23-12.

TKO TRIUMPH … A lightweight feature pitting Dean Barry against Corey Samuels buoyed Titan 55. Early on in the first round, Samuels landed some good kicks. Later in the stanza, Barry drove his adversary to the fence with two powerful side kicks and followed with a barrage of punches. When Samuels collapsed to the seat of his pants, the referee stepped in to award Barry the TKO 4:51 into Round 1. Barry upped his record to 2-1, while Samuels slipped to 1-1.
