Tyson Griffin will fight Takanori Gomi on Aug. 1, the UFC announced Monday.
Griffin, who lost a split decision to Evan Dunham earlier this month at UFC 115, replaces an injured Joe Stevenson. Gomi is also coming off a loss, having dropped his UFC debut in March via submission to Kenny Florian.
The lightweight matchup will take place at the San Diego Sports Arena as part of the second “UFC on Versus” event.
