Ramirez (17-0, 11 KOs) moved well in the bout and peppered his foe repeatedly with timely counters that were set up behind a stiff jab. While Bone had his moments in the fight, it was the Chicago native who controlled the pace. Ramirez racked up round after round by landing the far cleaner, more telling blows but Bone was active in every round.
When the smoked cleared, two of the judges had the fight scored in favor of Ramirez 97-93. However, the third official inexplicably had the identical score for Ecuador’s Bone (16-5, 8 KOs), who has no lost four in a row. Sherdog.com saw it 97-93 for Ramirez as well.
In other action, Dennis Galarza edged Omar Tienda via unanimous nod in a super lightweight battle; Xavier Martinez did the same to Prince Smalls in a featherweight clash; Cameron Kreal knocked out Genaro Mendez in the fourth of their welterweight encounter; Brian Gallegos toppled Carlos Trevino via four-round unanimous decision at 126 pounds; Josue Vargas won a unanimous verdict over Andrew Rodgers at 140 pounds; and Andres Cortez stopped Jesus Alvarado in the fourth of their lightweight clash. In a somewhat surprising outcome, Mike Snider knocked out Lanell Bellows in the third of their light heavyweight duel.
