Mousasi on GSP: 'I Want to Learn How He Trains'
Gegard Mousasi wants to run with the best.
Strikeforce's light heavyweight champion will join UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre's training camp this week to assist in the French Canadian's preparations for his March 27 bout against Dan Hardy at UFC 111 in Newark, N.J.
Mousasi spoke to Sherdog.com at the L.A. Fitness Expo last Saturday about working with the pound-for-pound great, what he thinks he can bring to the table and what he hopes to take away from the experience.
"He's a phenomenal athlete," said Mousasi. "I know he's a great athlete that tries to improve himself every time... it's a great opportunity for me to learn a lot from him."
The 24-year-old fighter also discussed his plans to fight 6-8 times this year and described how he plans to juggle appearances in Strikeforce with the Dream light heavyweight grand prix beginning this May in Japan.
With his first title defense rumored to be in April on CBS, Mousasi also broached a potential bout with frontrunner Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal.
