Alvarez Reacts to Curran Bout

Lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez had a tougher time than most expected while defending his title Saturday night at Bellator 39. It took him 25 minutes with a game -- but cautious -- Pat Curran to ensure his belt would find its way back around his waist.
Sherdog.com’s Greg Savage caught up with Alvarez after the bout and discussed his strategy and frustration in not being able to finish off his outmatched foe. Alvarez also touched on where he stands now as the promotion’s marquee fighter and one, if not the, top fighter competing outside of the Zuffa umbrella.
