Luke Rockhold’s latest move up the 185-pound ranks came at the expense of Michael Bisping.

The former Strikeforce champion barely broke a sweat at UFC Fight Night on Nov. 7 in Sydney, forcing perennial contender Bisping to submit for the first time with a one-armed, topside guillotine choke.

The win capped off a 3-0 year for Rockhold, who also scored finishes of Costas Philippou and Tim Boetsch en route to earning the No. 5 spot in this edition of Sherdog.com’s middleweight rankings. With the loss, Bisping remains just outside the top 10 on the list of other contenders, while his UFC title hopes have been dashed yet again.

Meanwhile, UFC Fight Night on Nov. 8 in Uberlandia, Brazil, produced a stunning result and a new entrant in the light heavyweight top 10. Fighting on less than two weeks’ notice, Ovince St. Preux shocked the local crowd with a 34-second knockout of Brazilian MMA icon Mauricio Rua.

The victory does much to erase the memory of St. Preux’s streak-snapping August loss to Ryan Bader and also propels “OSP” to the No. 10 spot at 205 pounds, bumping Dan Henderson to the list of other contenders. “Shogun,” who suffered his fourth defeat in five outings, exits the rankings completely.
