It wasn’t the type of statement-making performance indicative of the world’s best bantamweight.
Elsewhere, Lerone Murphy kept his unbeaten record intact with a dominant showing against Edson Barboza in the UFC Fight Night 241 headliner. Other than being rocked by an upkick at the end of Round 1, Murphy was in complete control throughout against the Brazilian veteran to extend his featherweight winning streak to six, a run that equals reigning champion Ilia Topuria. As a result, the Manchester, England, native joins the 145-pound poll at No. 15.
Finally, Aspen Ladd authored an unspectacular unanimous decision win over Katerina Shakalova on the Bellator Paris undercard. The UFC veteran has not been overwhelming since transitioning to the featherweight division, but she has been victorious in three of her four bouts at 145 pounds. In a shallow weight class, that’s good enough for her to remain a Top 10 talent, as she climbs one spot ahead of Arlene Blencowe to No. 9.
