Turner Title Defense & Holst vs Khatib on November 9th!

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Wreck MMA is excited to announce that our tenth event is scheduled for November 9th, 2012 at the Casino Lac-Leamy in Gatineau, Quebec. Presented by Giovanni's Restaurant, the event will be headlined by local star 'Relentless' Randy Turner who will defend his Wreck Bantamweight Title against The Ultimate Fighter veteran BJ Ferguson.

Turner (6-2-0) comes into the fight following a five round war against Eric Perez where he captured the Wreck Bantamweight Title. That bout cemented Turner's place as a top prospect in the Canadian bantamweight division. Ferguson (8-2-0) was a contestant on Season 14 of The Ultimate Fighter but lost his fight in the preliminary round to Canadian Roland Delorme. BJ's brother Josh made it into the TUF house and has competed on three occasions in the UFC following the show.

In the co-main event, the most anticipated rematch in Ottawa MMA is finally official, as Team Bushido's Nabil Khatib is out for revenge against Mark Holst from OAMA. Khatib believes their first fight was stopped prematurely and hasn't been shy in his requests for the rematch. Holst has been more than willing to fulfill Khatib's request but the timing hadn't been right; until now. On November 9th, they settle the score, once and for all.

Confirmed fights on the card include Port Dover's Taylor Solomon stepping up against Chris St-Jean (OAMA), Maxime Dubois (Team Legion) against Gatineau's Pablo Santos (FIT MMA) and Toronto's Abdulah Teymouri (Grant Bros MMA) facing Max Papineau (Team Bushido). Jason Bissonette (N1 Thaiboxing) will be making his return to the cage against Newfoundland's Kris Lee and Team Bushido's James Kouame takes on Matt Socholotiuk.

Also scheduled to appear are a trio of fighters from the Ottawa Academy of Martial Arts (OAMA), Stephane Bernadel, Andrew Walters and Jeff Chan. Their opponents will be announced shortly, in addition to other fights on the card.
