Dec 24, 2013

(PRESS RELEASE) -- ROAD Fighting Championship is thrilled to announce Muay Thai Champion Mostafa Abdollahi versus top Korean striker Kwon A-Sol at ROAD FC - KOREA 1 on January 18, 2014 in Seoul.

ROAD FC is pleased to announce the signing of another international star to the roster who will debut at ROAD FC - KOREA 1, Mostafa "Persian Mos" Abdollahi. His is not a name known in MMA, but in Muay Thai and kickboxing he is world-famous. The former Coach of the Iran National Team has won Championship belts from Thailand and all over the world in his almost 100 fights. Abdollahi has transitioned to MMA with the help of Vuyisile Colossa and Alberto Mina at Epic MMA in Hong Kong, where he is based. He will now take up the challenge inside the cage against a formidable striker in his own right.

Kwon A-Sol (16-8) is well-known as one of Korea's first generation MMA exports. The knock out artist has entertained fans all over the world with his aggressive style and powerful punches, putting on exciting matches with top foreign opponents Eduard Folayang, former DEEP Champ Daisuke Nakamura, and TUF China's Ning GuangYou. Kwon put his MMA career on hold for military service then returned to shake off the ring rust against heavy-handed Japanese fighter Koji Nakamura at ROAD FC 013. He was far too tentative in the match and it cost him dearly, as Koji took advantage and dropped him with a high kick. Kwon immediately wanted a shot to redeem himself and prove he still has what it takes against any tough striker.

As a finalist on The Challenger TV show who has 26 KOs to his name, there is no doubt "Persian Mos" has magic in his stand up game. Nine-year MMA veteran Kwon is hungrier more than ever to reclaim his legendary striker status. If this match up between world-class strikers is going to be stand-and-bang or ground-and-pound will be decided at ROAD FC - KOREA 1, an exciting new era of international MMA in Asia!

The Main Event for ROAD FC - KOREA 1 in Seoul, South Korea on January 18, 2014 will be the Middleweight Superfight of Riki Fukuda versus Kim Hee-Seung. More bouts will be announced soon.
