(PRESS RELEASE) -- The V3 “Legion” finally got to witness the hype last Saturday night in Nashville, TN when Ronnie Lawrence entered the cage. Many consider Lawrence to be the top pound for pound fighter in the state, and on Saturday night he didn’t disappoint. Lawrence put on a one-sided performance against then champion, Marquese Branch, and became the new V3Fights’ Bantamweight Champion.
When he was asked about his opponent and performance on Saturday night, here is what Lawrence had to say: “I really liked the whole V3 experience. It was great. As for my opponent… He was talking a lot of stuff before the fight, so it felt good to put him in his place. I hope it has humbled him. Nothing wrong with being cocky or motivating yourself, but I think he thought he would never lose. The fight was fun and easy. I didn’t ever feel threatened by him, but I did make sure I was on my toes the whole time. I’m glad his corner threw in the towel because he should have tapped because I was going to break his arm until the ref pulled me off.”
Lawrence put on a performance that only a few champions have been able to do inside of the V3 cage. If you missed this fight, you can watch “V3Fights: Stewart vs Carter” on Friday, March 1st at 9:00PM ET on Comcast Sports South.
