(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Maximum Fighting Championship’s first bantamweight takes center stage as both fighters cleared the scales with ease at the official weigh-in for MFC 37: True Grit taking place Friday night in Edmonton, Alberta.
Benoit, who hails from Dallas, Texas, weighed at 135.2 pounds, while Tucson, Arizona’s Birchak stepped off at 135.8 pounds. The two then went nose-to-nose and traded barbs as their pre-fight bad blood raged on.
A featured middleweight bout also yielded good results from the scale. Jason Zentgraf (7-1), who fights out of Missoula, Montana, weighed in at 185.4 pounds, while hometown hero Luke Harris (9-2) tipped the scales at 185.6 pounds.
