(PRESS RELEASE) – It has been confirmed that successful Hamza Kooheji, KHK MMA fighter and the second professional mixed martial arts fighter out of the Kingdom of Bahrain, will fight for the Desert Force featherweight title next month. He will face the current reigning Champion representing Saudi Arabia, Aziz Julaidan in the main event of Desert Force 21.
Kooheji started his Mixed Martial Arts career back in 2011 at the age of 19 under the tutelage of Coach Mohamed Shahid, the current CEO of KHK MMA. At that time, the sport was relatively new in the Kingdom of Bahrain with a handful of practitioners willing to engage in competition. After less than one year of training, Kooheji made his professional Debut in India’s Super Fight League international MMA competition where he became Champion. He then continued to excel in his young Mixed Martial Arts career, defeating AbdulMalek Al Mardhi in his Desert Force debut.
In 2015, KHK MMA powered by His Highness Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa was born and Hamza was one of the first professional fighters to join the team. With H.H. Shaikh Khalid closely supporting him in his corner, Kooheji went on to face Jordanian Ghaleb Al Harahsheh, the winner of Desert Force Al Academiya season 2 featherweight title and snatched a second TKO (Technical Knockout) win at Desert Force 17 (May,2015). It was at that point, Desert Force officials granted Kooheji a title shot.
The fight was not official until recently being announced on ArabsMMA.com. Julaidan Vs Kooheji will be a 5 round 5 minute fight where Aziz Julaidan, the current champion will defend his title against the Bahraini Challenger, Kooheji.
