Chase Beebe to meet Ralph Acosta at WFC 2
Jun 10, 2011
(PRESS RELEASE) -- WFC 2 may only be the second show by the
trailblazing UK promotion but journalists and fans alike are
already looking forward to one of the hardest hitting domestic
cards in recent memory.
Three World Fighting Championship titles will be on the line on July 9th from Grundy Park in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire as the bantamweight, featherweight and middleweight belts are all up for grabs.
WEC, Dream and Bellator veteran Chase "The Rage" Beebe will take on
American Top Team product, and fellow Bellator competitor, Ralph
"Spider Monkey" Acosta in what should prove to be an explosive
bantamweight battle.
Beebe and Acosta bring a mixture of aggressive grappling and incendiary striking and both will clearly be looking to walk away as the first ever WFC Bantamweight champion.
Jazbutis holds a notable victory against Hideo Tokoro and was more than happy to trade leather with UFC bantamweight Brad "One Punch" Pickett when the two met under the Cage Rage banner.
Moving up to the middleweight division and the gold will be contested by two fighters both riding high on the crest of fantastic winning streaks.
Matt "The Hardest" Ewin recently took out UFC veteran Ivan Salaverry at BAMMA 6 in convincing fashion and will be looking to add the WFC title to his long list of mma accomplishments.
Claudio "Minerio" Henrique Da Silva, however, is widely regarded as a truly dangerous submission grappler with a very impressive pedigree.
Silva, a submission specialist, has racked up an impressive six submissions in eight victories but will surely respect the powerful striking of his hard hitting foe.
Also featured on the card are Team Hellboy product Jack Hermansson in a middleweigh bout against French stalwart Bryan Rafiq and also TUF9 competitor Tommy Maguire who will face the always tough Alexandre Izidro.
WFC 2 will be shown on Sky Television Channel 281 (The Active Channel)
and the full card is listed below:
