(PRESS RELEASE) -- It’s fight week! EFC returns to Cape Town with one of the most stacked fight cards yet.
Tumelo Maphutha moves from team CIT ahead of his number 1 contender bout, the biggest fight of his career, and Gideon Drotschie's camp insist that 'The Juggernaut' can beat 'The Truck' standing. All revealed in the countdown to Drotschie vs. Maphutha which can be seen here:
The English are determined to conquer Cape Town! Two mixed martial artists from Team UTC in Birmingham, England, are making their first EFC appearance and are challenging Dragon Power’s best. The first is the mountain of a man, Yannick ‘Black Mamba’ Bahati, a middleweight who is fighting 4kg above his weight class against the undefeated light heavyweight, Champion Dalcha. The second, Joe ‘Silk’ Cummins, joined the already deep welterweight division and Cape Town’s Marcel ‘Little Hammer’ Teniers has the tough task of welcoming him to the Mother City.
Don Madge goes head-to-head with Regis Muyambo, Irshaad Sayed puts his title shot on the line to clash with Oumpie Sebeko. Luke Michael and Sibusiso Mdoko meet in what is sure to be an epic lightweight encounter plus we see the return of Mark Hulme, who is coming off a 6 month suspension take on Cape Town’s silent assassin Shaun de Lange. But first, four action packed prelim bouts featuring Pritchard vs. Tresor, Mailer vs. Toure, Nyembe vs. Openshaw and Moleke vs. Kabanda take place live at GrandWest.
