(PRESS RELEASE) -- Streetsboro, OH: As the weather in Northeast Ohio cools down, the action inside the NAAFS cage is expected to heat up in the coming months starting with October 20th's mega-card in Streetsboro. With Night of Champions around the corner, the next two NAAFS events promise to have major implications for what is setting up to be a spectacular close to the 2012 NAAFS season.
Former Pro Series welterweight champ Nick Duell takes on long time veteran Jay Buck in the night's main event. While Buck makes his debut in the NAAFS, Duell will try to take one more step towards a shot at reclaiming the 170 lbs crown.
Fan favorite, "Smokin" Joe Heiland collides with Buckeye MMA's Jon Washington in a lightweight tilt. Heiland has won two of his last three fights including a thrilling hard fought win over Andrew Osborne at Fight Nite in the Flats in June. Washington last appeared in the NAAFS as an amateur in 2009, but has since gone 5-3 as a professional and has a win against current TUF cast member, Julian Lane.
Rising superstar and 2011 NAAFS national champion, Mark Cherico, battles NAAFS veteran, Jason Lawrence in a featherweight bout. Cherico may be the most charismatic fighter in the league which has made "The Pride of Bloomfield" a fan and media favorite. After an undefeated amateur career, Cherico won his professional debut in dominating fashion last April and will look to stay unbeaten in Streetsboro.
Caged Vengeance 12 will mark the NAAFS debut of Russian powerhouse Maxim Grishin. A former training partner of the legendary Fedor Emelianenko, Grishin will look for his third straight win when he faces off with Illinois native, William Hill in a light heavyweight showcase.
The professional portion of the card will also include 2 time NAAFS national champion George Comer and the return of Elonzo Harvey.
The Caged Vengeance 12 undercard will include no less than 10 NAAFS national amateur semi-final bouts. A complete fight card is listed below.
