Mir confirmed Saturday that his recent knee surgery will delay
his bout with UFC heavyweight champion Brock
Lesnar.
Mir, the UFC interim heavyweight champion, was scheduled to fight Lesnar on May 23 at UFC 98. During Saturday’s UFC 96 pay-per-view, he told Joe Rogan that the fight will likely take place at UFC 100, which is slated for July 11 in Las Vegas.
Also confirmed during the broadcast, UFC light heavyweight kingpin Rashad Evans will make his first title defense against Quinton "Rampage" Jackson at UFC 98. The bout, which was made official after Jackson’s unanimous decision over Keith Jardine, will replace Mir-Lesnar as the main event on May 23.
