In a video posted to his Twitter account, “El Cucuy” can be seen tackling, suplexing and and flipping over a cube-shaped training apparatus. Ferguson, of course, is well-known for his unorthodox training methods. Perhaps more importantly, the former UFC interim lightweight champion is performing his drills in solitude in this time of social distancing.
Ferguson is supposed to face Nurmagomedov in the UFC 249 headliner on April 18. Although the promotion has canceled its next three events, UFC president Dana White has been adamant that the 155-pound title bout will proceed as scheduled, even if the venue most move from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., to a different location.
Ferguson is currently on a 12-bout winning streak in the UFC. He is coming off a second-round TKO of Donald Cerrone at UFC 238 this past June.
