Lightweights Joe Lauzon, Michael Chiesa Slated for UFC Fight Night in Connecticut

Joe Lauzon will meet Michael Chiesa in a lightweight tussle when the UFC heads to Connecticut on Sept. 5.

Promotion officials announced the booking – the first for the event -- on Tuesday night. The UFC Fight Night card takes place at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Ledyard, Conn., and will go head-to-head with Bellator 123, which airs on Spike that same night.

Lauzon halted a two-fight losing streak in his last appearance, taking a unanimous verdict over Mac Danzig at UFC on Fox 9 in December. The Bridgewater, Mass., native holds significant victories over Jamie Varner, Melvin Guillard, Jeremy Stephens and Jens Pulver during his UFC career.

“The Ultimate Fighter 15” winner, Chiesa has come out on top in four of his five Octagon outings. Most recently, “Maverick” captured a unanimous decision against Francisco Trinaldo at UFC 173.
