Erik Perez, Andres Ayala to Headline Combate Americas Card in Monterrey on Nov. 17

UFC veteran Erik Perez will square off against Andres Ayala in the main event of a Combate Americas card in Monterrey, Mexico, on Nov. 17.

The promotion announced the bantamweight matchup on Monday. The event takes place at Gimnasio Nuevo Leon Unido and airs in English on DAZN at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT and in Spanish on Univision and Univision Deportes Network at 12 a.m. ET/9 p.m. PT.

A native of Monterrey, Perez enters the matchup on a four-fight winning streak. In his Combate Americas debut, “El Goyito” knockout out D.J. Fuentes in the third round on April 20. He was supposed to face John Castaneda on Oct. 13, but that contest was scrapped after Castaneda pulled out of the event due to a staph in infection. Perez owns an 18-6 career mark that includes a 7-2 record in UFC competition.

Ayala, who hails from Bogota, Columbia, will be making his Combate Americas debut. “Double A” has lost three fights in a row and is 9-6 since beginning his professional tenure in 2012.
