McGregor was initially arrested and charged with felony strong-armed robbery and criminal mischief for stealing and destroying Abdirzak’s phone after the fan allegedly attempted to take a picture of the fighter. Recently, the degree of one felony charge was lowered and the other was converted to a misdemeanor, which would reduce his potential maximum prison sentence from 20 years to six years. McGregor was initially released on $12,500 bond and is scheduled to return to court for an arraignment on April 10.
The incident was captured on video, as McGregor appears to stomp on the device multiple times while Abdirzak pleads “Let me get my phone, man.”
McGregor still has more serious issues at hand. The SBG Ireland representative is reportedly under investigation in Ireland for a sexual assault that occurred this past December. The Dublin native has not been charged in the case.
