Canadian import T.J. Grant
will meet
AMA Fight Club representative Charlie
Brenneman in a preliminary welterweight matchup at
UFC Live 4 “Marquardt vs. Johnson” on June 26 at the Consol
Energy Center in Pittsburgh. A 12-fight lineup has been finalized
for the event, which will air live on the Versus network.
Grant (Pictured; file photo) last fought at UFC 124 in December, when he dropped a unanimous decision to former middleweight King of Pancrase Ricardo Almeida at the Bell Centre in Montreal. The 27-year-old Nova Scotia-based Brazilian jiu-jitsu brown belt has secured 12 of his 16 career victories by submission. Grant holds a 3-3 mark inside the Octagon. In 21 professional outings, he has been finished only once.
A former high school Spanish teacher, Brenneman has not competed
since UFC
“Fight for the Troops 2” in January, when he posted a unanimous
decision victory against
Nova União representative Amilcar
Alves at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas. The 30-year-old
Hollidaysburg, Pa., native has won eight of his last nine bouts.
Brenneman made his
UFC debut in a little more than a year ago, defeating 2009
Dream
welterweight grand prix finalist Jason
High.
