Welcome back to the Sherdog Staff Pick 'Em, where this week we will take our best shot at the whopping 14-fight extravaganza that is UFC Fight Night 185. First things first, a humble thank-you to Rafael Alves, whose colossal weigh-in failure on Friday — he missed the lightweight limit by a full pound, which doesn't sound that bad except that it was for a featherweight bout — brought the fight tally down from a grueling, record-tying 15.
The remaining fights are a pretty lopsided bunch; only Jared Gordon vs. Danny Chavez is even close, according to the pickers. However, there are no unanimous picks, as all 28 fighters from "UFC Vegas 19" had at least one staff member willing to go out on a limb for them. There are three potential Super Cojones Awards on Saturday night. European contributor Tudor Leonte, picking against type, was the only one to predict an upset by Jared Vanderaa over Sergey Spivak. (If you hear what sounds like an Italian chanting "USA! USA!" on Saturday night, that's Tudor.) Also, the forum moderator known only as Zebra Cheeks stands to pick up a rare and elusive Cuatro Cojones if Yana Kunitskaya and Andrei Arlovski both manage to win. Respect.
Without further ado, here are the Sherdog staff picks for UFC Fight Night 185: Blaydes vs. Lewis.
