The Walkmen: UFC Fight Night ‘Lewis vs. Hunt’

Mike SloanJun 11, 2017

The Ultimate Fighting Championship on Saturday traveled far and wide for another raucous night of mixed martial arts mayhem, as UFC Fight Night 110 touched down at Spark Arena in Auckland, New Zealand. The heavyweight main event saw beloved knockout artist Mark Hunt take on Derrick Lewis in a potential crossroads bout for both men.

As always, the walkout music told part of the tale.

Lewis strolled out to ABN’s “Umm Hmm” and entered the cage on a six-fight winning streak. On the opposite side of the Octagon, Hunt chose Naughty By Nature’s “Wickedest Man Alive” to trumpet his arrival, as he fought in his homeland for the first time in his MMA career. Meanwhile, middleweight co-headliner Derek Brunson called upon Kendrick Lamar’s “Humble” ahead of his three-round clash with four-time Olympian Daniel Kelly at 185 pounds. Choirboys’ “Run to Paradise” brought Kelly to battle.

Other standout tracks included Ramin Djawadi’s “Game of Thrones Theme” (Alexander Volkanovski), Coolio’s “Gangsta’s Paradise” (Luke Jumeau), Bone Thugs-n-Harmony’s “Thuggish Ruggish Bone” (John Moraga), The Rolling Stones’ “Gimme Shelter” (Zak Ottow) and Shocking Lemon’s “Inner Light” (Ben Nguyen).
