The Expert Edge: UFC 230

Nov 01, 2018

(SPONSORED CONTENT) -- With MMA fever at an all-time high following the drama of UFC 229, fans of the sport are being spoiled with upcoming UFC 230 set to be just as explosive. Some of the biggest names in the promotion will be clashing antlers in New York City come Saturday, 3rd November. We tagged in MMA whizz kid Richie Vas to help you gain the expect edge.

Without a doubt one of the biggest draws of 230 will be the return of Daniel ‘DC’ Cormier to the octagon, where he’ll square off against fellow Heavyweight career-ruiner Derek ‘The Black Beast’ Lewis. Both units will be walking in with overflowing confidence from recent knockout wins. Lewis will be coming in headstrong and powerful, but that won’t be enough to outsmart DC, known for his ability to bring 4D chess into the cage. Vas calls this one a fourth round submission win for DC, unless he opts for a ground and pound finish instead.

Middleweight warriors Chris ‘The All-American’ Weidman and Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza will be tearing each other limb from limb for their anticipated clash as part of 230. Given Weidman’s skill on his back, and Souza’s desire to not find himself there, Vas predicts this one will be a standing war between the two. After slogging it out, no doubt both will be bloody but with Weidman’s striking proficiently, Souza most likely won’t be able to keep up, taking an L via decision.

Mainstay of the middleweight division Derek Brunson will be facing the undefeated Israel 'The Last Stylebender' Adesanya for UFC 230. As much as we love an underdog story, Vas tags Adesanya to remain undefeated by the end of the bell. Vas predicts Adesanya will use his wrestling skills to defend the takedown attempts, keeping things standing and dismantling Brunson piece by piece there.
