Puja Tomar is set to create history by becoming the first female Indian fighter to step inside the Octagon.

Tomar (8-4) will make her promotional debut in a strawweight matchup against Rayanne Amanda dos Santos (14-7) at a UFC Fight Night event set to go down on June 8. The booking was first reported by Tomar’s management firm, First Round Management Europe.

Tomar is currently riding a four-fight winning streak, which includes three finishes. “The Cyclone” defended her Matrix Fight Night strawweight title with a finish of Russia’s Anastasia Feofanova in her most recent outing at MFN 12 in July 2023.

Meanwhile, Amanda came up short against Denise Gomes during a Dana White’s Contender Series appearance in August 2022. She then racked up three consecutive wins on the regional circuit to earn a call from the Ultimate Fighting Championship, where she dropped a split decision against Talita Alencar in her debut back in December.
