Rob Font was originally scheduled to meet Cody Stamann at UFC Fight Night 154. Unfortunately, the latter had to withdraw due to an injury and was replaced by John Lineker. That means Font will have a chance to avenge a previous loss to the Brazilian bantamweight who defeated him via decision at UFC 198. As the two 135ers try to move up the rankings, learn more about their upcoming bout through the numbers below.
Post-fight bonuses
Font and Lineker may not be at the top five of the division as of the moment, but when it comes to bringing in exciting fights, they are certainly up there. Lineker, who has been in the UFC much longer than Font, owns four post-fight bonuses. The Brazilian made heads turn in his very first Octagon bout where he engaged in a thrilling scuffle with Louis Gaudinot, who submitted him seconds before time expired in round two.For their efforts, they were given Fight of the Night honors, which was Lineker’s first. He also shared Fight of the Night awards with Alptekin Ozkilic and Francisco Rivera. In addition, he has earned one Performance of the Night bonus after knocking out Michael McDonald, which makes for a total of four post-fight bonuses.
After nine UFC appearances, Font has garnered two post-fight bonuses. Like Lineker, he got his first on his Octagon debut, where he starched veteran George Roop to take Performance of the Night honors. He earned the same award following his submission of Douglas Silva de Andrade. That’s two post-fight bonuses for the Team Sityodtong standout.
