By The Numbers: Jarred Brooks

It did not take long for Jarred Brooks to find his footing in One Championship.

The Mash Fight Team representative has compiled a perfect 3-0 record since he joined the organization in 2021, establishing himself as a serious threat to the reign of current men’s strawweight champion Joshua Pacio. Brooks was scheduled to challenge the Filipino star for the 125-pound belt in June before a scheduling conflict derailed those plans and left him in a state of limbo. He last competed at One 156, where he put Bokang Masunyane to sleep with a rear-naked choke in the first round of their April 22 pairing.

As Brooks waits for his match with Pacio to be remade, a look at some of the numbers that have accompanied him to this point:

29: Years of age for Brooks, who was born on May 2, 1993 in Warsaw, Indiana.

8: Brooks victories by submission, accounting for 42% of his career total (19). His methods of choice include five rear-naked chokes and two arm-triangle chokes. Brooks holds two other victories by knockout or technical knockout and nine more by decision.

35: Rounds completed by Brooks as a professional mixed martial artist. He has gone the distance on 10 different occasions and carries a 9-1 record in those bouts.

6: First-round finishes on the Brooks resume. However, his aforementioned submission of Masunyane was his first such stoppage in more than five years.

16: Takedowns landed by Brooks across his four appearances in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He went 2-2 inside the Octagon—he recorded split-decision wins over Eric Shelton and Roberto Sanchez—before being released by the organization in November 2018.

1: Brooks assignment in Bellator MMA. He laid claim to a unanimous decision over Haruo Ochi in their Bellator 237 rematch on Dec. 29, 2019. An accidental clash of heads a mere 10 seconds into the first round had resulted in their first encounter being ruled a no contest under the Rizin Fighting Federation flag roughly a year earlier.

5: Countries in which Brooks has plied his MMA trade. He has gone 12-1 in the United States, 3-0 with one no contest in Japan, 3-0 in Singapore, 1-0 in Russia and 0-1 in Brazil.

.861: Cumulative winning percentage between the two opponents—Deiveson Figueiredo and Jose Torres—who have beaten Brooks. They boast a combined record of 31-3-2.
