3. Alpha Fail
Of all the women that have been placed before Rousey, Cat Zingano was supposed to be the one to give her the most trouble. Some even predicted a Zingano victory at UFC 184, even though the champion had beaten her two previous opponents, Sara McMann and Alexis Davis, in less than 90 seconds combined.
Zigano had endured an inordinate amount of pain in her personal life. She had undergone reconstructive knee surgery, suffered through a rehabilitation process that kept her out of the cage for 17 months and then had to deal with the suicide of her husband. Rousey made sure the challenger never got the chance to get in gear, as Zingano launched herself into the clinch with an ill-conceived flying knee at the start. Rousey successfully defended the takedown attempt that followed, reversing Zingano on the way down before taking her back and latching one of the slickest armbars in recent memory. “Alpha” tapped just 14 seconds into the first round.
