10 Pro Wrestlers Who Would Have Made Intriguing MMA Fighters

The most unlikely selection on this list, Misterio was not renowned for his toughness or martial arts background. It is entirely possible that he would not have had the mindset to make a living competing in fistfights. Few would think of the diminutive masked luchador when considering pro wrestlers best suited for MMA.

With all that said, Misterio in his prime had transcendent physical gifts. No pro wrestler may ever have had the agility and fluidity of motion Misterio did. He was so dynamic as a young, high-flying wrestler that he opened up opportunities for lighter wrestlers in the United States that had never existed before. Even in the fast-paced lighter weight classes of MMA, few would be able to match Misterio’s speed, movement and coordination.

Misterio might not have had the interest or ability to take to MMA, but with time and desire, he might have done quite well for himself. So he does not look the part. One might say the same for Demetrious Johnson or Joseph Benavidez.
