6. Carlos Condit vs. Rory MacDonald
UFC 115 “Liddell vs. Franklin”
June 12, 2010 | Vancouver, British Columbia
Condit and MacDonald were two of the most exciting welterweights in the sport, and they gave fans at the General Motors Place their money’s worth.
A Tristar Gym rep, MacDonald had the fight well in hand entering the third round. However, he began to tire and gave Condit the slight opening he needed. Midway through the frame, MacDonald wound up on his back and tried to scramble to his feet. Condit was relentless, slamming elbows and fists into his face while suffocating him from the top. Precious seconds dwindled, as Condit raced the clock. With a massive hematoma growing on the right side of MacDonald’s forehead and blood streaming from his nose and a gash near his left eye, Condit turned up the heat and unloaded a final volley of hammerfists and elbows for the finish. The stoppage came with just seven seconds left in the fight.
