Valentijn Overeem (29-25) vs. Chad Griggs (10-1)

The Matchup: Griggs has emerged as my favorite B-level heavyweight to watch, precisely because he just does not give a crap who he is fighting; the guy just looks happy to be in a scrap.

After his stoppage of Bobby Lashley, Griggs returned with a gutty knockout of game Gian Villante on Strikeforce’s February offering. At 230 pounds, Griggs is not big for a heavyweight, but he fights literally with everything thrown into every punch and battles 100 percent from beginning to end.

Overeem, a longtime veteran of the game, picked up a nice win over Ray Sefo on that same February show and definitely has a live one here.

The Pick: Griggs is too aggressive and confident at this point to lose to the lesser of the two Overeems. He will be able to dictate where the fight takes place, and barring a blunder that gets him caught in a submission, he will beat up Overeem in a one-sided bout en route to a second-round knockout.
