One of two men -- Randy Couture is the other -- to capture Ultimate Fighting Championship titles in two weight classes, “The Prodigy” made his MMA debut at UFC 31 on May 4, 2001 and quickly became one of the sport’s most popular stars. Penn has fought 23 times under the UFC banner and landed 1,736 total strikes along the way, many of them devastating in nature.
Penn’s total haul includes 111 strikes against Caol Uno, 130 against Sean Sherk, 151 against Kenny Florian and 161 against Jens Pulver. Of the 130 strikes he landed against Sherk, 120 were deemed significant, including the fight-ending flying knee he executed with mere seconds remaining in the third round.
