UFC 126 Preview: The Prelims

The Matchup: Pierce is one of those durable-yet-obscure fighters who is a breakout performance or two away from moving up the ladder. He upset Brock Larson in his promotional debut at UFC Fight Night 19 and then lost a decision to the world-ranked Jon Fitch at UFC 107. Pierce, however, had Fitch in trouble in the third round.

The Brave Legion star will enter his matchup with Robertson, an unbeaten newcomer, on a two-fight winning streak. Robertson is willing to let his hands go, but his striking remains a tad rough around the edges and submissions are his bread and butter. Here, he will be tasked with outwrestling Pierce -- a difficult assignment -- and taking control early.

The Pick: Pierce’s experience in the UFC and recent momentum should power him to a decision win.
