The Ultimate Fighter Finale: The Wait is Over

Josh Koscheck vs Chris Sanford

Josh Koscheck: Wrestling/American Kickboxing Academy • 5’10• 185 lbs. • 4-0

Career Against Noteworthy Opponents: • Cruz Chacon (1-0)
History on Ultimate Fighter: 1-1 Defeated Chris Leben by decision in Episode 6
Lost to Diego Sanchez by submission in Episode 11•
--------------------------------
Chris Sanford: Boxing/Muay Thai/Jiu-Jitsu/Cesar Gracie • 5’8 • 185 lbs. • 4-0
Career Against Noteworthy Opponents: None
History on Ultimate Fighter: 0-0
Eliminated on Episode 2 by choice of Team Couture captain Randy Couture
--------------------------------
The Better Striker: Tough call. Both have a win via knockout on their pro records. We saw nothing from Sanford on the show, and though we saw him fight twice, we didn’t see a whole lot of solid striking from Josh.

The Better Grappler: Koscheck. If there is one thing Josh showed it’s that he can wrestle. Sanford trains with Cesar Gracie and holds three wins by submission, so he should have a formidable ground game to combat Koscheck’s wrestling.

And The Winner Is: Koscheck. Sanford hasn’t fought in two years and he is eight years older than Josh. Not every MMA veteran fighter drinks from the same waters as Randy Couture. If he doesn’t come out of the blocks on fire, Sanford is in for less ring time than he had screen time in TUF. Josh will do what he does best: ground’n’wait … for a decision.
