8. Pablo Garza vs. Fredson Paixao
“The Ultimate Fighter 12” Finale
Dec. 4, 2010 | Las Vegas
Not known for crushing power, Garza was expected to have a difficult time dealing with Paixao, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion. They never got the chance to demonstrate whose submission prowess was superior. “The Scarecrow” drilled Paixao with a left knee so explosive that Paixao’s circuits were scrambled as soon as it connected. The Brazilian fell flat to his back, completely separated from his senses, the victim of one the UFC’s most brutal knockouts. Paixao did not regain consciousness for several minutes as a pensive crowd at the Palms Casino Resort looked on.
Garza needed just 51 seconds to ice Paixao, who fought only more time before retiring from mixed martial arts.
