Sherdog’s Top 10: Come-From-Behind Finishes

No. 8

8. Mike Russow vs. Todd Duffee
UFC 114 “Rampage vs. Evans”
May 29, 2010 | Las Vegas

Duffee had stopped his first six opponents -- a run that included a seven-second knockout of Tim Hague in his UFC debut -- and was being hailed by some as the future of the heavyweight division. Russow was supposed to become his next victim at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, and for a time, all went according to plan for Duffee.

For more than two rounds, Russow ate punch after powerful punch. Bloodied and shaken, he endured. Still, it seemed inevitable that the Chicago police officer was going to be on the receiving end of a violent knockout. Then Russow found the mark with a straight right to Duffee’s jaw, and everything changed. An out-cold Duffee fell flat on his back, beaten for the first time in his career. He has since battled illness and inconsistency, sandwiching knockout losses to Alistair Overeem and Frank Mir around wins over Neil Grove, Philip De Fries and Anthony Hamilton.
