Though Deep is not considered a low-level production by any means, it never came close to achieving the status of Dream, Pride Fighting Championships and other better-known Japanese organizations. Still, it has a long-established reputation for cranking out solid if not spectacular cards.

One event that stands out went down at Korakuen Hall in August 2006. Loaded with international stars like Jutaro Nakao, Fredson Paixao, Roan Carneiro and a young Dong Hyun Kim, Deep 25 thrilled its audience. Ten of the 13 bouts ended in either knockout or submission, including Hisae Watanabe’s knockout of Satoko Shinashi for the Deep women’s lightweight championship, and the three others -- Kim’s fight with Tomoyoshi Iwamiya among them -- were also entertaining.
