9. Tito Ortiz
“The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” was a force of nature at his peak. A ferocious ground fighter who crashed into guard without hesitation and performed a Hulk Smash routine all his own, Ortiz often brutalized opponents after slamming them to the canvas. A fortunate few, like Evan Tanner, did not have to concern themselves with being pounded into dust because they were already out when they hit the mat. However, fighters like Jerry Bohlander, Ken Shamrock, Guy Mezger and Elvis Sinosic were forced to endure a cascade of elbows, forearm strikes, punches and hammerfists until the fight was over. Ortiz was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2012 and retired following a rear-naked choke submission against Chael Sonnen at Bellator 170 some five years later.
