The Ultimate Fighting Championship could not have pitted two more mercurial figures against one another. A two-time Ring of Combat champion who has run hot and cold inside the Octagon, Hall snapped a three-fight losing streak on Sept. 16, when he knocked out Krzysztof Jotko with punches in the second round of their UFC Fight Night 116 encounter. “The Ultimate Fighter 17” finalist has compiled a 6-5 record under the UFC flag. Belfort, who will turn 41 in April, appears to be competing on borrowed time. The former light heavyweight titleholder last appeared at UFC 212 in June, when he took a three-round unanimous decision from Nate Marquardt. It was Belfort’s first victory in nearly two years.
