Covering Saturday’s Fights
I know you guys didn’t cover UFC 55 but will you cover UFC 56 like you coverd the Ultimate Fighter finals? It’s a pretty solid show and you really should for the fans. What’s you’re take on the title fights. Is there any way Quarry can take out Franklin? I don’t need to ask about Riggs against Hughes. There’s no way Hughes loses that fight. We’ll be there sitting in the stands, without access to the
fighters, doing out best to cover the fights the way they should be
covered. As far as the title fights, I’m not terribly interested.
If Franklin is as good as I think he is and if Matt Hughes (Pictures) is Matt Hughes (Pictures), both should end rather
early.
One Man’s Take
Sure, Pride gets a ton of crap and I hate how they handle title fights. But at least when it’s a championship bout you know the guy challenging at least deserves to be in the ring with the champ. Quarry? He’s okay but nothing special. And Riggs. Totally overrated.
Will these fights be competitive at all? — Mark King, Culver City, Calif.

Where’s Lindland?
Am I the only one that feels bad for Matt Lindland (Pictures)? Here’s a guy who’s probably the most decorated athlete to be successful in the UFC, he finally gets a title shot and then some BS contract thing gets him kicked out. There’s no way that’s why he was bounced. It’s beause Dana didn’t want him beating his poster boy. You know it. Everyone knows it.
Thing is, I think Franklin knows it to. I’m sure Rich could beat him, but we’ll never know and it’s garbage like this that makes people hate the UFC. How is it fair to anyone? Sure Lindland can be boring but at least he’s a comptetor and he deserves to get a title shot. Not some reality show guy who’s not all that good. What a joke. Can’t wait until Pride comes to the U.S. — Rick Humphries
I wonder where Matt will watch this fight. Should he be in Quarry’s corner the irony will be almost too much for me. Fact of the matter is he was never promoted correctly. You’ll hear from UFC staff the no one wanted to talk with him or that he was surly. So what!
Here’s a guy whose athletic credentials are unparalleled in today’s UFC. The guy is a friggin' silver medalist. How that’s unmarketable I have no idea. Only in Zuffa’s world.
It would be nice if after Franklin wins (and I’m fairly confident he will) if someone would ask him about Lindland. Clearly Dana White’s done a disservice to Franklin because no matter what he does from this point forward, he will not have beaten the only guy that’s truly deserved a shot.

We’re not credentialed and, according to Dana White, won’t be for a while — if ever. As far as I’ve heard, no MMA media outside of insidefighting.com has earned the right to call itself worthy of UFC credentials. How that happened, only Zuffa and insidefighting know.

J.G., let’s be honest here, neither UFC title fight is very
compelling. I mean, Matt
Hughes (Pictures) against Karo Parisyan (Pictures) was at least somewhat
interesting. But Joe
Riggs (Pictures)? God, this is awful. And I’m sure
you agree that it’s a total sham that Quarry is fighting Franklin
for the middleweight belt while Matt Lindland (Pictures) sits on the sidelines and
watches. UFC is a joke.
