2. Ronaldo Souza vs. Kelvin Gastelum
UFC 224 “Nunes vs. Pennington”
May 12 | Rio de Janeiro
Two of the sport’s premier middleweights will lock horns in a superb co-main event. Souza has rattled off nine wins in his past 11 outings, losing only to No. 1 contender Yoel Romero and current champion Robert Whittaker. The former Strikeforce titleholder last appeared at UFC on Fox 27 in January, when he disposed of Derek Brunson with first-round punches at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. A decorated Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, Souza has secured 14 of his 25 professional victories by submission: four by arm-triangle choke, three by rear-naked choke, three by armbar, two by kimura, one by triangle choke and one by guillotine choke. Gastelum, 26, has gone 9-3 since arriving in the UFC a little more than four years ago. Two of his three defeats resulted in split decisions.
