Nine competitors from WEC 50 tested negative for steroids and drugs of abuse, according to an email distributed by the Nevada State Athletic Commission on Thursday.
Headliners Dominick Cruz and Joseph Benavidez, as well as Anthony Pettis, Chad Mendes, Scott Jorgensen, Bart Palaszewski, Maciej Jewtuszko, Javier Vasquez, Fredson Paixao, Danny Castillo and Ricardo Lamas were all tested in conjunction with their participation at WEC 50 on Aug. 18 at the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Cruz, 24, defended his bantamweight title with a unanimous decision nod against Benavidez in the main event.
