UFC Announces Schedule for 2015 International Fight Week

Mike SloanMay 19, 2015

Anchored by UFC 189 and the massive featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor, this year’s UFC International Fight Week is expected to outdo all previous iterations.

The organization this week announced that “The Ultimate Fighter 21” Finale has been moved from Florida to Las Vegas and will now serve as the end cap to International Fight Week. The event will take place Sunday, July 12, at MGM Grand Garden Arena, which will host UFC 189 on the night prior.

The 2015 UFC Fan Expo has been moved to the larger Sands Expo and Convention Center, which will have the largest square footage ever for a UFC Fan Expo. This year’s will boast over 550,000 square feet of fight-related euphoria and will be home to hundreds of companies hocking their goods for the tens of thousands of patrons that will walk through the convention doors. The UFC also promises greatly increased fan-and-fighter interaction this time around.

Aside from the usual trappings of the UFC Fan Expo, such as the UFC Hall of Fame induction ceremony, fans this year will be able to experience what it’s like to be a fighter via the UFC Reebok Experience. The exhibit will feature hand wrapping, measuring hand speed, strength and power tests, and the chance to climb through the actual Octagon.

Even more, several major fight-related promotions will be holding their events either on the grounds of the Expo itself or at a nearby off-site property. Organizations like Lion Fight muay Thai, United States Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation, International Mixed Martial Arts Federation, United States Ju-Jitsu Organization, International Sport Karate Association and others will all be on hand throughout the week.
