UFC 196 Highlight Video: Watch Vitor Miranda Stun Marcelo Guimaraes

It was Vitor Miranda who was triumphant in the battle of Brazilian middleweights, but he had to earn it.

After Marcelo Guimaraes controlled the action with clinches against the cage throughout much of the opening round, he tried to continue that success in the second. When Guimaraes aggressively tried to take his foe to the ground, Miranda unloaded a series of short left elbows that landed around his opponent’s right ear.

The shot buckled his knees and when the two separated, “Lex Luthor” crushed him with a right head kick and then finished him with a terrific right cross-left hook combo, forcing referee Chris Tognoni to step in. The official time of the TKO was 1:09 of the stanza.
