Every Wednesday, Administrative Editor Jordan Breen welcomes a member of the mixed martial arts media into “Press Row” on the Sherdog.com blog. This week, Breen is joined by Sherdog.com News Editor Tristen Critchfield.

With UFC boss Dana White announcing Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone as the next UFC lightweight title challenger, Breen and Critchfield reflect on the Jackson-Wink MMA product's long, arduous road to a title shot in the Octagon. The pair discuss the historical importance of Cerrone's breakout performance against “Razor” Rob McCullough at WEC 36, how his World Extreme Cagefighting losses created questionable narratives about him as a competitor and how he has been able to produce his spiriting eight-fight win streak over the last 18 months, as well as some of Cerrone's questionable moments outside the cage, including his incendiary comments toward Jamie Varner and his beef with Marcus Sursa.

Breen and Critchfield also discuss Cerrone's championship chances in his rematch with Rafael dos Anjos, size up a potential fight with the man he was supposed to meet at UFC 187, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and wonder when a UFC lightweight champion will finally surpass three successful title defenses and who it might be.

Grab your credential and get a seat in “Press Row.”
